Pacific Madrone (Arbutus menziesii) in foll blossom.
From a rugged south facing slope above the lower Middle Fork Willamette River, a Pacific Madrone (Arbutus menziesii) reaches the peak of full bloom in late April. The Madrone is a broad leaf evergreen with smooth bark, beautiful clusters of flowers and colorful berries which range from yellow to orange and red.
